The LSR coalition brings together some of the strongest and most prominent advocates for Latinos in the country including the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), the Labor Council for Latin American Advancement (LCLAA), The Hispanic Federation, the National Hispanic Council on Aging (NHCOA), MANA- A National Latina Organization, SER- Jobs for Progress National, Inc., the Institute for the Puerto Rican/Hispanic Elderly, the American GI Forum and the National Association for Hispanic Elderly. LSR and its coalition members are part of the Strengthen Social Security Coalition, and is actively working to educate and mobilize the Latino community around Social Security and other retirement issues. LSR’s staff and member organizations have appeared on dozen of radio and television shows, in English and in Spanish, talking about the importance of Social Security and Medicare. Working with the National Council of La Raza, LSR has launched the Latinos and Social Security, ¡Tu Futuro Cuenta! Campaign to host a series of town halls across the country to highlight the importance of Social Security to Latinos.
