Enrique Cortez
Enrique Cortez is the founder and president of Enitial Advanced Communications, a firm focusing on public relations, strategic counsel and marketing services incorporated with multicultural capabilities. For the ten years prior to founding the firm in the summer of 2010, Enrique has dedicated his career to finding the crossroads between public service and public relations.
Before starting his small business, Enrique served as Director of Government Relations and Strategic Alliances for the nation’s leading cause-related marketing agency, Interlex Communications. In his time there, Enrique led a thriving public affairs division that successfully created support infrastructures of elected officials, government agencies and nonprofit groups for groundbreaking cause-related programs and public-private partnerships led by Interlex’s anchor clientele. With a professional foundation in leading the operational, programmatic and marketing aspects of national nonprofits, Enrique also served as the agency’s expert in strategically handling philanthropic investments for important client initiatives and creating signature cause-related programs aimed at bridging disparities in anything from entrepreneurial growth to human rights.
Prior to Interlex, Enrique was an Associate at the prestigious Washington, DC-based Ibarra Strategy Group, where he pioneered what is now the most prominent and celebrated leadership gathering in the country in Hispanic influencer circles, the Latino Leadership Network. He also served as program director at the New America Alliance where he worked intimately with the nation’s most respected and revered Hispanic leaders on issues never before addressed in the modern day civil rights movement, including increasing Hispanics on corporate boards and inclusiveness of private equity, angel investment and pension fund investments among Hispanic businesses. In each of his former positions, Enrique has implemented numerous scholarship and internship programs demonstrating his commitment to developing human capital for the benefit of the American Latino community.
Enrique is a proud graduate of the University of Texas at Austin earning a B.A. in History.
